3 Steps to Use Facebook's Watch Party for Online Small Groups

Facebook's Watch Party feature is now available to all Facebook Groups around the world! Watch Party is "a new way for people to watch videos on Facebook together in real time." The video content accessible for Watch Party is live streams through Facebook Live and on-demand videos uploaded to Pages, Groups, and Profiles.

Facebook Friends can interact with each other during the same moment as if they're in the room together. Any church of any size can leverage the Watch Party feature to start more online small groups without any robust software buy.

We’ve been focused on building new ways to bring people together around video, create connections, and ignite conversations; Watch Party is the next step in bringing this vision to life.

Using Facebook's Watch Party for Online Small Groups:

Step 1:
A small group creates a Facebook Group and invites all members to join the group. Set up the Facebook Group as private to keep the conversation secure to only members of the small group.

Step 2:
Click "Watch Party" and search for the video of choice. Your ministry can choose to provide access to the small group video curriculum to online small groups by directing them to repost the video from existing Facebook Page or send a download link from DropBox to allow them to upload the study into their private Facebook Group.

Step 3:
Engage in typically group conversation while the video is playing and after the video is finished talk through any discussion questions affiliated with the study.
